About
What to say about me… what to say. Well, let’s handle it with some bullet points. In no particular order, I am…
- Married to the all-to-nice and too-good-for-me Rebecca Elledge
- We were married on June 17, 2006
- Upon marriage, I inherited a wonderful step-son: Spencer Montgomery
- Upon marriage, I also inherited a not-so-wonderful step-dog, Sophie “The Other Dog”
- My first born child, Braelyn Grace Elledge, was born on January 9, 2008
- January 9, 2008 is also Dave Matthews birthday. Pretty cool, eh?
- Grace is the name of one of Dave Matthews twin daughters. The other’s name is Stella, but Stella Elledge doesn’t sound good when said together
- My second child, Brody Carlen Elledge, was born on September 18, 2009
- Carlen is my mother’s maiden name
- I have the most awesome, yet often-gimp, dog: Hoover Woodrow Elledge. He is an English Mastiff born October 4, 2006.
- The middle name Woodrow came from the fact that Hoover, as a young pup, loved eating wood.
- I am the Chief Operating Officer for a dedicated and managed server company called Codero
- I am a (once proud) member of the Republican Party.
- The “once proud” comes from the fact that I am extremely disenchanted by my own party, but it does better represent most of my beliefs than the other alternatives.
- My parents are Steve and Vickie Elledge.
- I have two older sisters, Stephanie Lovato and Wendy Lecher.
- Thanks to my sisters, I have two great brother-in-laws, Michael Lovato and Tony Lecher, and six of the most awesome nephews and nieces you could ever have: Brandon, Nathan, Courtney and Keegan Lecher, plus Ashley Carnahan and Stephen Lovato.
- I have two living grandparents: Dorothy Elledge and Emmett Carlen. Grandma is in her ninetys, and unfortunately my grandfather suffers from Alzheimers.
- My paternal grandfather, Murray Elledge, passed away when I was 13 years old. My maternal grandmother, Virginia “Grandma Cookie” Carlen, passed away when I was 34. My gramps had plenty of diseases and my grandma passed from breast cancer.
- I am so fortunate to have a wonderful, loving family. We are all very close, and I am so thankful for that.
- Baseball is my favorite sport. I have coached baseball for 11 years, though not in the past three. I have coached two State Championship teams.
- Baseball coaching stints include Casper and Torrington Wyoming and Windsor Colorado.
- Forgot to mention that I was born and raised in Casper. Windy and cold. Don’t miss that.
- Spent many years in college studying math and physical education, as I always wanted to coach and become an athletic director. Went to Casper College, Black Hills State University, and finally Colorado State University.
- Go Rams! Even though you screwed-up by getting rid of the legendary Sonny Lubick.
- Sonny Lubick never went 0-fer in conference play… replacement coach can’t say the same.
- Hosting my baseball team’s website with CommuniTech.net (now defunct) led me into my current career path and away from teaching math and coaching baseball. All is good though, little regrets.
- My family and I currently live in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.
- I moved to Kansas City on July 3, 1999. I have survived here for over ten years now!
- I like to take pictures, as you can see by visiting my gallery.
- I spend way too much time on the Internet.
- I have run out of things to bullet-point about myself, for now at least.
- Oh, some people call me “relledge”, pronounced rale-ige.
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me. You can follow me on twitter at www.twitter.com/relledge and can certainly friend me on FaceBook at www.facebook.com/relledge. You can also search me on www.LinkedIn.com.
Take care,
-RElledge
